Cumbria’s Kendal Calling has been crowned festival of the year at a prestigious awards ceremony.
It took the title at the Northern Music Awards, organised by music therapy charity Nordoff & Robbins.
The awards celebrate the best artists, bands, DJs, and industry figures of the year and is dedicated to honouring the North’s music scene.
The coveted Festival of the Year award is voted for by the public and was presented in Liverpool to the team behind Cumbria’s biggest music festival this week.
Andy Smith, Kendal Calling co-founder said, “It’s our 20th birthday this year and what a wonderful present to receive! It means an awful lot to all the workers, musicians and audience that are the Kendal Calling family.

“Our thanks to Nordoff & Robbins, a wonderful charity that understands the powerful magic of music and community.”
Just three weeks after the first wave line-up was revealed for 2025’s event from July 31 to August 3, Kendal Calling officially sold out. The festival, held at Lowther Deer Park, near Penrith, has now sold out for 20 consecutive years.
