Forty Farms Fair will return to Rheged this month – with over 35 stalls showcasing the best of local produce.
The fair, in partnership with Kendal Farmers Market, will take place on Saturday April 12.
It will also feature Easter treats, talks and demos.
Talks include top tips on crop growing with Paul Cambre, of Growing Well, a behind-the-scenes look at the Renison’s Regenerative Farm and a book launch of Fading Hoofprints, with an exclusive cinema screening of The Equine Legacy Project’s Fell Pony documentary.
From bakers to brewers, butchers and cheesemakers, farmers and growers, weavers and potters, this is a chance to stock up on a range of local produce and unique gift ideas ready for Easter, while meeting the talented artisans behind the products.
The stallholders include Torpenhow Cheese Company, Lovingly Artisan Bakery, Ginger Bakers, Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese Company, Eden Yard, Deer and Dexter, Drakelaw Pottery, Woolclip and My Gourmet Mushrooms.

Amelia Benson will also join the producers to demonstrate the art of gilding, ahead of her creative class at Rheged in September.
Claire Logan-Stephens, head of programming at Rheged, said: “We’re thrilled to host local producers and artisans for this exciting event. It’s a chance for the community to connect with and support the amazing local producers we have here in Cumbria.
“At each fair, we invite new speakers to share their stories of food and farming in Cumbria and start insightful conversations. We are particularly excited to be the chosen venue for the one-time cinema screening of The Equine Legacy Project’s Fell Pony documentary, sharing the important work of everyone involved.”
Entry is free to the event, which will run from 10am until 3pm.
