A man has been arrested twice in 24 hours on suspicion of drug driving.
Police stopped the driver on Wednesday and he was arrested for failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
He was charged with that offence and bailed to attend court next month.
Officers stopped him yesterday, in Stonegarth, Carlisle, and he was arrested after failing to comply with a roadside test.
He has been charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis. He was denied bail and is due to appear in court today.
The arrests are part of a month-long crackdown by Cumbria police, Operation Spotlight, which is targeting the Fatal Four – the most dangerous behaviours on the road, which are speeding, using a mobile phone at the wheel, not wearing a seatbelt and driving under the influence of drink and/or drugs.
