People are being urged to do their bit to support war-torn Ukraine by attending a concert next week.
Tickets are now on sale for the event, at Lazonby Village Hall on Saturday May 3, which will feature several artists who are all giving their time up for free.
It will raise funds for Cumbria Aid Ukraine, which raises funds to buy and equip emergency vehicles and deliver them to Ukraine’s medical services.
As of March, it has delivered 19 vehicles, including ambulances, four-wheel drive ambulances, paramedic motorcycles and cars, thanks to the generosity of Cumbria.
The vehicles help in the safe evacuation and transportation of the injured, including children, women, and the elderly. Additionally, it will facilitate the crucial delivery of medical personnel and aid to areas in urgent need.
Concert for Ukraine will help the organisation continue its vital work.
It said: “We really hope people will come along to the concert for a night of great music and continue supporting our efforts. We couldn’t help the people of Ukraine without the support of the people of Cumbria – we’d love to have a sold-out night.”
There will also be a bar and a raffle at the event, presented by Music in Lazonby.
Concert for Ukraine will include several local artists.

It features:
- Ewanrigg Community Choir
- Mitchell Hill – singer/guitarist – traditional country music
- Phoenix – female soloist with a pure voice
- Mamestelle – five-piece band – blues, rock & soul
- Matthew Pearce – young musician – covers & original songs
