A man has died following a fire in Carlisle.
Fire crews were called at around 1.55pm yesterday, Tuesday May 13, to the blaze at a commercial building on James Street.
Crews from Carlisle East and West and Longtown fire stations extinguished the fire, while other emergency services also responded.
The fire has been put out, but crews will remain at the scene.
People were asked to avoid the area while emergency services dealt with the incident and those nearby were asked to keep their windows and doors closed.
A man, in his 20s, was found dead at the scene.
Joint enquiries are underway involving police and the fire service, Cumbria police said.
There are no suspicious circumstances at this time, they added.
