People visiting the Lake District are being urged to park sensibly.
The Lake District National Park has asked people to think about emergency vehicles and farmers when they visit a beauty spot.
In a social media post, they said it was a national park, not a car park.
It added that just because someone else had already parked on that verge, it didn’t mean others should do the same.
It said parking on the road caused:
- Traffic congestion
- Damage to the delicate landscape
- Problems for large vehicles, including emergency services
It added: “Our national park is not your car park.
“Please park responsibly and plan ahead, to help everyone enjoy the Lake District safely and respectfully.”
