Organisers are getting ready for the 150th Keswick Convention, which will bring over 12,000 people to the Lake District town.
It takes place between July 12 and August 1 at the town’s pencil factory, which Keswick Ministries has completely renovated.
The first convention took place when a small group of Christians gathered on the lawn of St John’s Vicarage in 1875 for Bible teaching. The Convention has taken place every summer since then, in the heart of Keswick.
In celebration of the 150th anniversary, Keswick Ministries is hosting a party on Rawnsley Green from noon to 3pm each Sunday of the convention.
This year’s Convention theme is Transformed, exploring how knowing and following Jesus transforms life now and in the future. The event is free to attend.
Keswick Museum will hold an interactive display about the convention through the years.
The charity said it continued to partner with local businesses year-round, and for the Convention, including Fluid Productions, Shiloh Cafe, Mr Bounce’s Crazy Castles and Simone Taylor’s new foodtruck, JOY.
During the convention, Keswick Ministries will run a dedicated community relations line on 07460 409081.
