A West Cumbrian artist has teamed up with volunteers to produce greetings cards to help support curlew recovery.
Market Place Print Studio in Cockermouth and the Melbreak Curlew Recovery Project have produced the cards from a reduction lino print of a curlew, designed by Jack Fawdry Tatham.
Jack produced a series of limited edition prints to donate to the curlew project and raise funds, supporting the group’s work to protect curlews in the Cocker Valley and surrounding area.
Jack and his partner Emily Fairlie Baker set up Market Place Print Studio in 2023. They offer printmaking and art classes, as well as producing their own designs, which they sell from the studio shop.
Jack said: “I‘m very keen to help. Combining printmaking with supporting wildlife is an ideal option for me and I look forward to further collaboration with the group.”
David Gardiner, chair of the Melbreak Curlew Recovery Project, added: “We are delighted to have Jack on board and his generous support is greatly appreciated.
“The lovely limited edition curlew prints have been very well received – there are just a few still available at Market Place Print Studio – and we will be selling the greeting cards at our Wildlife stand at the Cockermouth and Loweswater shows.”
