A Lake District walker was airlifted to hospital after a fall left him seriously injured.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team was called at around 3.20pm on July 13 to Upper Eskdale.
It was reported that someone had sustained multiple injuries after falling from steep ground.
The team said: “A full callout was initiated quickly, and Helimed 75 was also tasked by the North West Ambulance Service.
“With communications difficult with patchy mobile signal, the team set off prepared for a serious combined medical and technical rope rescue.
“However, the helicopter was able to land relatively close to the location, and the crew was able to walk to safely access the casualty and begin medical assessment and treatment.
!When the team arrived, they provided support to carefully place the casualty into the team stretcher and then transfer to the helicopter.
“The casualty was then flown to hospital for further treatment. We wish him a quick and speedy recovery.”
