Cumbrian housebuilder Genesis Homes has raised almost £3,000 at a charity golf day.
The event, held on June 27 at Penrith Golf Club, was raising money for CRY for Eden, part of the national Cardiac Risk in the Young charity.
It saw 92 players battling the Cumbrian elements for a day on the fairways, followed by an evening of live music, hearty food, and prize-giving.
Highlights included the winning team from Carlisle Brass taking home the trophy, with players from Housing Growth Partnership, JT Atkinsons, and Genesis Homes scooping prizes for ‘nearest the pin’. Joe South, of Roann, wowed the crowd with the day’s longest drive.
The golf day was part of Genesis Homes’ mission to raise over £14,000 this year CRY for Eden.
The Penrith-based charity provides vital screenings for local people, aged between 14 and 35, helping to detect irregularities and save lives.

Other fundraising activities so far have included team bake-offs, a red and white day, and a masquerade charity ball will be held in October.
Nicky Gordon, managing director of Genesis Homes, said: “Every year, I find myself standing back and admiring this event with immense pride and this year was no different. It was amazing to see so many local businesses and individuals come together to support CRY for Eden.
“Thank you to everyone involved, the money raised will help provide life-saving heart screenings for young people in our community.”
