A man has died following a collision between a motorbike and a car in Eden today.
Police were called to a two-vehicle collision on the A686 near Langwathby at around 10.30am today.
The collision involved a BMW motorcycle and a Dacia Sandero.
The motorcycle rider, a 77-year-old man from the Preston area, died from injuries sustained.
The occupants of the Dacia were uninjured.
The road was closed for five hours while a forensic collision investigation was carried out.
