[T]he family of a woman who died following a road traffic collision on the A66 near Warcop on Sunday (25 June, 2017) have paid tribute to her life.

Rosemary Sharples, 68, from Sedbusk, near Hawes, died when her car was involved in a collision with another car and a goods vehicle.

Her family have said: “We are at a total loss for words as to what has happened to our wonderful wife, mum, grandma, sister and Aunty.  She had a heart of gold and lived for her family.  She was loved by everyone she met and had time for us all.  Mum has left a huge hole in our lives that can never ever be replaced.

“We would all like to thank everyone for their kindness over the last couple of days it has meant the world to us and kept us going through the most difficult time.  We would also like to thank the emergency services who cared for her in her final moments and the ongoing support we are receiving.”

The collision happened at around 4pm on the A66 at Warcop.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident who has yet to come forward. Contact the police quoting log 177 of the 25th June.
