A595 death crash teenager “stable” in hospital

[T]he condition of a teenager who was critically injured in a crash which killed her two friends has now improved.

Police were called at 7.55pm on Friday, 14th July, following a two vehicle collision at Bootle, on the A595.

Skye Olivia Mitchell, 18-years-old from Millom, who was driving a Green Toyota Yaris, and her front seat passenger Caitlin Lydia Huddlestone, also 18-years-old,  from The Green, Millom, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The back seat passenger, an 18-year-old local women was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The 51-year-old, local, male, driver of the Ford Transit suffered serious injuries.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said today: “The conditions of both the 18-year-old, female passenger, in the back of the Green Toyota Yaris, and the 51-year-old, male driver, of the Ford Transit, is described as stable.

“Both remain in hospital.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information is asked to contact police on 101, or email 101@cumbria.police.uk, quoting log number 230 of the 14th July.
