Penrith teenager on indecent photos charges

[A]n 18-year-old teenager from Penrith has appeared at the Magistrates Court in Carlisle, facing a total of nine-charges of making indecent images and other sexual allegations.

Joshua Stephen Clarke gave his address as Macadam Way, Penrith, One-alleged offence is he had possession of extreme pornographic images which was grossly offensive between February 13, 2014 and February 8, 2017.

Three charges of making indecent photo/pseudo photo of a child, the allegations date between February 3, 2014 and February 8, 2017.

Two allegations between January 1, and February 11, 2017 that Clarke, caused/incite a girl to engage in sexual activity not believing she was aged over 16.

Also one-allegation that on January 15, 2017 he distributed an indecent photo/pseudo photo of a child.

Two-charges that he allegedly caused a child to watch a sexual act, this allegation relates to dates between January 1, 2017 and February 11, 2017.

The court papers show that the categories of the alleged indecent images are in A, B, and C, the most serious category is A, all the offences and alleged allegations took place in Penrith.

Clarke did not enter a plea during the five-minute hearing in front of District Judge Gerald Chalk, the case was sent to be heard at Carlisle Crown Court on August 21, when pleas are expected to be entered.
