[T]he family-friendly table quiz scheduled for Thursday, October 12 at 6.30pm, and the ‘Meet the Curator’ sessions on October 19 at The Beacon Museum have been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.

The following event is still scheduled to go ahead as planned:

Local author and researcher Alan Cleaver will be delivering a terrifying talk on the Ghosts, Ghouls and Boggles of Whitehaven, on October 26 at 7pm. Bar facilities will be available at the event which is open to all the family.

Copeland Pass holders can enter the museum and participate in these events free of charge, but must pay admission to the feature exhibition Gladiators: A Cemetery of Secrets.

Alan Irwin, Business Development Manager at The Beacon Museum, said: “We are trying to open up the museum to new audiences and think that this is a great opportunity for families and adults to rediscover the museum at night, whilst having some fun in the process.”

“With the added draw of this event, it is an opportunity to get people exploring the museum as well.

“People have busy schedules and lifestyles, and it doesn’t always suit at weekends or during the day to take families to the museum.”

You can find out more information on the Beacon Museum website at www.thebeacon-whitehaven.co.uk, on facebook/thebeaconmuseum, or by calling 01946 592302.
