[P]enrith AFC Ladies face a daunting task in the first round of this seasons Argyle NW League Cup when they travel to current Cup holders FC United of Manchester.

FC United start the game as massive favourites. They are one of the most ambitious clubs in the Womens game at present and have assembled a high quality squad of young talented players from the Greater Manchester area. So far this season they top their league table with a 100% record and a +47 goal difference.

The Match is to be played at FC United’s impressive Broadhurst Park Stadium (Capacity 4400) and the FC United’s womens team has a phenomenal following and always get 3 figure crowds of supporters for their games.

Penrith Manager Simon Savage said “It’s a little daunting but exciting at the same time. We know it’s going to be tough but we play football exactly for games like this when we can test ourselves against the top teams. As always, we will prepare well and give it 100%. It’s just amazing that a small town club like Penrith AFC Ladies can even compete with a massive club like FC United”.
