Vicky and Darren Taylor

[A] father of four from Whitehaven is celebrating today after scooping a top prize of £300,000 on the £300K Bingo Instant Win Game from National Lottery GameStore.

Darren Taylor, 36, a refuse truck driver, is now planning to take his family on their first trip to Disneyland Florida – something he says he could only have ever dreamed about previously.

Also top of the shopping list is buying a first family home.

Darren, who is married to Vicky, 32, a support worker, said, “We currently rent our home and buying a house of our own is just something which we thought would never happen. Now thanks to this win Vicky and I can buy and own a family home – this is such a wonderful feeling.

“It is great too that we will also now be able to afford to take our children on a family holiday of a lifetime – again something which we could have only ever dreamed about previously.

“Every parent dreams of being able to take their children to Disneyland but we’ve never had the means to afford it. Now we can and this money will enable us to create magical memories which we will all treasure for the rest of our lives.”

Also high on the shopping list is a new motorbike and a new family car: “It is wonderful that this win will not only benefit Vicky and I but all of the family too,” Darren said.

Darren explained how he had a feeling of luck on the evening he won.

He explained, “It was late Saturday night after my wife and children had gone to bed and I decided to log on to my online National Lottery account and play one of the Instant Win games.

“I don’t know what it was but I just had a feeling of luck. I had been sitting relaxing and day-dreaming and I just felt warm inside and as if luck was going to come my way.

“This particular game caught my eye so I went for it. When all of the zeros flashed infront of me I couldn’t quite believe it.”

Vicky added, “We still cannot believe it. It still all seems like a dream which we are going to wake up from. I was asleep in bed when Darren discovered we had won and I actually thought I was in a dream when he woke me up.

“I think it will take time for this amazing news to fully sink in.”

Darren, who works for Copeland Borough Council, says he has no plans to give up work but said he was so excited he had to take the following day off which his bosses were happy to grant.

He continued, “I’ve got no plans to stop working. I’ve been there for 17 years and I really love the team – I will definitely be taking my work mates out for a celebratory breakfast!”

GameStore is the home of scratchcards and online Instant Win games from The National Lottery, offering players many different and exciting ways to play and win life changing prizes.

The £300K Bingo Instant Win game is one of the popular Instant Wins offered by National Lottery GameStore at www.national-lottery.co.uk. The £300k Bingo Instant Win offers a 1 in 2.58 overall chance of winning a prize on each play of the game. The game costs £3 and prizes range from £3 up to the top prize of £300,000. Players have four interactive cards for a real 75-ball Bingo experience and can win with a row, column, diagonal or all four corners.

The National Lottery changes the lives of winners like Darren and Vicky as well as communities across the UK – players raise, on average, over £30M for National Lottery-funded projects every week.
