[P]enrith’s Development team produced a superb team performance as they beat an experienced North Lancs team who play 2 divisions higher than Penrith. The win sees Penrith top their league Cup group and will see them progress to the next stage of the League Cup competition.

Penrith started the game brightly and their pace and movement was causing problems for the North Lancs team. Penrith deservedly took an early lead when Bobbi Noble finished off a swift passing move.

Penrith remained on top and created several good scoring opportunities but failed to extend their lead.

North Lancs tried to respond themselves but found the solid Penrith defence of Holly Falder, Daisy Savage, Lily Street and Izzy Savage in determined mood.

HT 1-0

Into the 2nd half the game started to open up as both teams began to fatigue. North Lancs had their chances but Penrith keeper Hope Lawson was equal to the task making a couple of fine saves.

Penrith’s fitness and pace eventually paid dividends as in the final 20 minutes of the game they sealed a memorable victory with 3 late goals. Chez Brierley creativity proved instrumental in the win as Bobbi Noble and Holly Falder(2) completed the scoring.

FT 4-0

Penrith Development: Tracey(Lawson), Falder, D.Savage, Street(Simpson), I.Savage, Scott(Place), Fawkes, Brierley, Glendinning, Noble, Norwood(Gray).
