Man killed in Catterick Garrison crash

[O]fficers are appealing for witnesses following a collision this morning in Catterick Garrison.

The incident happened at 9.55am today, Friday 29 December 2017, on Range Road, Catterick Garrison and involved a white Citroen Van and a silver Daihatsu Terios.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “Sadly, the driver of the Daihatsu was killed in the collision. He was a 68-year-old man from the Arkengarthdale area.

“The 34-year-old male driver of the Citroen van and his 12-year-old male passenger were in shock but did not sustain any injuries.

“The road was closed at the Hauxwell Lane Junction and at Munster Barracks.

“The road was reopened shortly before 2.30pm.

“We are not yet in a position to name the man who sadly died.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who saw either of the vehicles prior to the collision, is asked to contact police.
