Armed police deployed after man suffers burns in Carlisle store

[O]fficers are continuing with enquiries into an assault that occurred within a property on Wigton Road, Carlisle.

Police were called at 10.47am today (13th February) following an assault within the P B Sports store.

An unknown male offender has entered the store and assaulted a 50-year-old male. The victim has suffered burns to his legs and has been taken to the Cumberland Infirmary.

Armed officers have been deployed as a precaution and enquiries are ongoing to trace the offender.

The scene of the assault has been cordoned off and Wigton Road has been reopened.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 65 of 13th February. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
