Scott Hall

[T]he family of a man who died following a collision in Denton have paid tribute to him.

Shortly before 8.35pm on Friday 23 February 2018, police were called to reports of a collision between a white Volvo V70 and a Honda motorbike on Hyde Road.

The motorcyclist – who has now been formally identified as 41-year-old Scott Hall from Hyde – was taken to hospital but sadly died as a result of his injuries.

Paying tribute to Scott, his family said: “Scott loved his motorbikes and they were a massive part of his life. He’d been riding since he was 18 and he rode all year round. Even though he had a car he still rode his bikes in winter.

“In the last year he had joined a local biker group so that he had like-minded people to ride with.

“He would also go mountain biking and liked to keep fit by training at the gym or at home. He looked after himself and rarely drank. He preferred to play his computer games than to go out drinking.

“He was well liked and had a wide range of friends, both bikers and non-bikers and he was quite mischievous with a wicked sense of humour.

“He was a much loved son, brother, dad and uncle and will be greatly missed by all of us.”

Police Constable Paul Hailwood, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We have specially trained officers supporting Scott’s family at this incredibly difficult time and my thoughts are with them.

“Our investigation remains ongoing and I would continue to appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage or relevant information to please get in touch.”

Anyone with information or dashcam footage should contact GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 quoting reference number 1962 of 23/02/18 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
