[C]umbria Police is asking HGV drivers to be vigilant of thieves stealing loads and fuel from parked vehicles, particularly when parked in laybys on the A66.
Drivers and hauliers are urged to seek established truck parks and motorway services that are not so isolated to park up at in order to minimise the potential for being targeted for such offending.
An example is the truck park at Junction 38 of the M6 which is certified under the Safer Parking scheme.
Anyone who witnesses such an offence, suspicious behaviour or has information which could assist is asked to contact police.
