Allerdale council arrangements over the Easter period

[A]llerdale Borough Council is reminding residents of changes to bin collections and opening hours over the Easter period.

Bins due to be collected on Good Friday will be collected as usual. However, with effect from Easter Monday 2 April, bins will be collected one day later throughout the week as follows:

  • Monday 2nd April will be carried out on Tuesday 3rd April
  • Tuesday 3rd April will be  carried out on Wednesday 4th April
  • Wednesday 4th April will be carried out on Thursday 5th April
  • Thursday 5th April will be carried out on Friday 6th April
  • Friday 6th April will be carried out on Saturday 7th April

More information is available by visiting www.allerdale.gov.uk/bincollections or downloading the myAllerdale app from the Apple, Google Play or Microsoft stores, where residents can check bin collection dates, report a missed collection, and check for anything that could affect collections.

Details of the opening times for the Household Waste Recycling Centres are available from Cumbria County Council at: http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/

Office opening dates/times:

Council offices including Allerdale House in Workington and Customer Service Centres in Keswick, Maryport and Wigton will close at 5pm on Thursday 29 March and reopen again at 9am* on Tuesday 3 April (*Allerdale House opens at 8.45am). The Cockermouth office, which is based in Cockermouth Library on Main Street, will close at 4pm on Thursday 29 March and reopen at 10am on Tuesday 3 April.

The emergency out-of-hours number while offices are closed is 0303 123 1702.

Allerdale Borough Council’s website http://www.allerdale.gov.uk/ can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is a secure online payment facility as well as specific pages to report any issues. Payments can also be made 24 hours a day on 0303 123 1702. Residents can also follow the Council on Twitter and Facebook.
