At around 12:30pm, a man was seen to pour accelerant onto a blue Honda Civic that was parked at an address on Loop Road North, Whitehaven.
Anyone who recognises the individual or has any information about the incident, should contact Cumbria Police referencing incident 104 of 2 April 2018.
