A Carlisle woman has appeared in court and admitted assaulting a parking warden at the Cumberland Infirmary.
Patricia Kirkbride, 62, of Green Lane, Belle Vue, Carlisle, pleaded guilty at the Magistrates Court to a charge of assault on July 14.
The court heard Kirkbride attended the hospital with her daughter for treatment at the A & E department.
She left her car parked in a disabled parking bay, when she returned to the car and found a parking ticket, she was annoyed.
District Judge Gerald Chalk was told the defendant drove around and found the warden, shouted at him saying “stick the ticket where the sun doesn’t shine” pushed him and stuck the ticket into his high visibility jacket.
Kirkbride also works at the hospital and knows the problems with parking, but she was rushing for treatment.
She admitted she lost her temper and this was out of character.
The Judge said he understood she was under stress but, the warden was just carrying out his duty, it can be irritating to the public we know that.
She was given a one-year conditional order of discharge and has to pay £50 compensation to the parking warden with court cost of £85.
