The Women’s Outpatients department at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle has moved to a new location in the hospital which offers fantastic new facilities.
The move is part of ongoing work at the hospital which is designed to improve services and improve patient experiences.
The department was located on the first floor but has now moved to the lower ground floor, which has been built specifically for the department and offers more consulting rooms and gives the staff there the opportunity to expand the services it offers and increase operating time.
Claire Penn, matron for surgery at North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust, said: All the staff in the department are thrilled to be moving to their new purpose built home in the hospital, it’s been really exciting for everyone involved.
“The new location gives us the opportunity to offer antenatal day patients their treatments in a more comfortable environment and we will be expanding the services we can offer.”
