Your chance to vote for charity and community projects across the North

TransPennine Express (TPE) is inviting those from the communities it serves to vote for applications shortlisted as part of its Transform grant scheme.

A total of £50k available to support projects across the North and into Scotland which tackle youth unemployment, promote social inclusion and improve the environment.

In a first for the annual grant scheme, TPE is inviting customers from across the towns and cities across its network to select which initiatives they think should receive funding from a shortlisted list of 24.

Votes can be registered online at: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/TPETransformVote2018

This year the train company received a total of 114 applications for funding, requesting in excess of £450,000.

Charlie French from TransPennine Express commented; “We would like to thank all of the charities and community groups that submitted applications as part of this year’s Transform scheme.

“We have a total of £50k of funding available and want our customers and communities to help decide which projects this money should go to. I would encourage people to spare a few moments of their time to go online and vote using the link provided.”

Voting is now open and the closing date for entries is 31st December 2018.

The winners will be announced in January 2019.

  6. Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity – Pop-Up Teddy Bear Hospital
  7. Hull & District Anglers’ Association – After-School Angling at Brough
  8. Trees for Cities – Greening Castle Hill Hospital, Cottingham, Hull
  9. Grimsby in Bloom – Early intervention, Grimsby
  10. Ruskin Mill Trust – High Riggs Composting Scheme, Sheffield
  11. Open Minds Counselling Service – Social Inclusion for Complex lives, Doncaster
  12. Endeavour – Endeavour Enterprise School – Dry Stone Walling, Sheffield
  13. Friends of St Nicholas Fields – Things that go bump in the night – Nocturnal habitats, York
  14. North East Autism Society – Community orchard for people with autism spectrum conditions, County Durham
  15. Skill Mill – Ferryhill Carrs Improvement Scheme, County Durham
  16. Weaponness Valley Community Group – Brookleigh Farm, North Yorkshire
  17. Mirfield in Bloom – Mirfield, Huddersfield
