Lakes College level two and three beauty students with the cheque for Cancer Research

Lakes College beauty students’ girls night has raised a fantastic £244 for Cancer Research.

The students’ organised a three day girls night, where they provided a variety of pampering beauty treatments including manicures, pedicures, eye brow and lash tinting and eye brow shaping. The idea behind the event was to ‘look good feel better and face cancer with confidence’.

Each client also received a pink iced cupcake made by the Lakes College catering students.

Lynn Creighton (Lakes College Hair and Beauty Lecturer) spoke about how proud she was of the students and the event; “I am delighted with how successful the night was, it was a great opportunity for the students to demonstrate both their employability and salon skills and a fantastic amount was raised for a brilliant charity.”

Lauren Caddy (a Lakes College Level 2 Beauty student) said: “We are all very pleased as the money raised from the nights is going towards a fantastic charity. The event ran very smoothly even though some of us were extremely nervous with this being our first opening event. All of our clients expressed how happy they were with the services we provided and some of our friends and family members attended to support us.”
