Dream Placement Abigail Wright, Chloe Atkinson and Elissa Bell

Three Keswick School Sixth Form students have been successful in securing work experience placements on the ‘Dream Placement’ programme following a competitive application process. Year 13 students, Elissa Bell, Chloe Atkinson and Abigail Wright have been offered week-long industrial placements with Cumbrian companies Cyclife, James Fisher Nuclear and Wood.

The Dream Placement scheme brings together ambitious young students across Cumbria with some of the most forward-looking and successful businesses in the county. The most valuable part of the scheme is the week-long placement for each student and his or her host company. Students get the chance to see how the real world of business operates, how leaders work and how vital decisions are made. Companies get to build relationships with Cumbria’s talented young people.

Simon Jackson, Headteacher said: “The ‘Dream Placement’ programme is a terrific initiative to bring young people into the workplace. I’m sure all our students who have secured placements will benefit from this enormously and it will open their eyes to the multitude of possibilities available in business.”
