A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The vehicle, a black Peugeot 307, rammed a police vehicle. There was then a pursuit before the vehicle was abandoned on Brow Avenue.

“Damage was caused to the police vehicle.

“It is believed that four people were in the black Peugeot 307 at the time of the incident.

“Police are appealing to any witnesses in the area that may have seen the vehicle or who have CCTV that could assist police with their enquiries to come forward.”

Anyone with information should call PC 2526 Lucy Hesketh on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log 20 of the 2nd June 2019.
