Madame Tussauds Blackpool has announced a new Strictly Come Dancing experience that will open to the public on 12th July 2019.

The experience offers fans of all ages the chance to sprinkle some Strictly sparkle on their visit to Madame Tussauds Blackpool.

As well as meeting yet to be unveiled wax figures of the show’s presenters, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, guests have the chance to lift a replica glitter ball trophy, bust a move on a Strictly dancefloor and even raise a score paddle from behind a re-created Strictly judges’ desk.

Existing Madame Tussauds Blackpool resident, Craig Revel Horwood, will join the new figures of Tess and Claudia in this magical Strictly Come Dancing attraction, which features three areas of activities for guests to enjoy.

Each of the three areas provides fantastic photo opportunities and unique Strictly experiences.

The first area invites guests along a celebrity-worthy red carpet before the opportunity to take a Strictly Come Dancing opening credits-style picture of themselves.

The second area, whisks guests onto a replica set-up of the Strictly Come Dancing TV studio where they’ll feel like the stars of the show.

The third and final area gives guests a sneak peek backstage into the show’s glittering costume wardrobe.

Strictly Come Dancing has a long association with Blackpool. Every series the show’s celebrity contestants and professional dancers alike battle to make it to the live spectacular from the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom, long seen as Britain’s home of ballroom dancing.

Matthew Titherington, General Manager at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, said: “Strictly fever always spreads through the town when the show returns to Blackpool each year and we’re delighted to make that fantastic feeling a permanent part of our attraction. Guests of all ages – and all dancing abilities – will be truly amazed by what we have to offer and we can’t wait to open our new in-house ballroom doors to the public in July so they can take to the floor and meet Strictly Come Dancing stars themselves.”

Mat Way, Global Director, Live Entertainment at BBC Studios, said: “Blackpool has always held a special place in the heart of Strictly Come Dancing, with our professionals, celebrities and viewers all looking forward to its return every year. It’s a town full of history and significance for the dancing community, and we’re thrilled to have a permanent place in that rich heritage and culture at Madame Tussauds.”

The new attraction joins the roster of other exciting, interactive areas at Madame Tussauds Blackpool. These include the MARVEL SUPER HEROES area, which features comic characters including Captain Marvel, Hulk, Ironman, Spiderman and Thor.

To be amongst the first to strut your stuff at the Strictly Come Dancing attraction at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, book tickets online or find out more information by visiting: www.madametussauds.com/blackpool.
