Kirkstone Car Pull 2016

30 women from the Ambleside area will attempt to pull a car up Kirkstone Pass unaided on Sunday 22 September, one of the highest passes in the UK. The distance is 3.1 miles and the gradient is 25% in places.

This is the third time that a team has been led by Ursula Brendling, a local Personal Trainer attempting to equal or better their previous time of 1 hour 2 mins and 45 seconds.

Ursula said, “The Kirkstone Car Pull is a fantastic fitness fundraiser. The main aim is to raise money and awareness for Grizedale Chemotherapy Unit at Westmorland General Hospital, but as a team we are all hoping to increase our fitness and hopefully better our time this year too.”

The Car Pull is always a spectacle, and you can watch the team setting off from the Post Office in Ambleside at 11am on the 22nd September. Team leader Ursula added, “Do come and support us on the day – it’s a real test of mental strength and so every cheer makes a difference.”

You can also support the cause by donating to the team’s fundraiser for Grizedale Chemotherapy Unit via JustGiving: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ursula-brendling4

Bay Hospitals Charity is a registered charity which raises money to improve patient care and the hospital and community experience across University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. By donating to Bay Hospitals Charity you can fund the latest equipment and help make your local hospitals more comfortable, ensuring you and your loved ones get the best possible care and treatment.
