Tullie House are encouraging all LEGO® builders to get creative and have the chance to have their models on display as part of the family friendly exhibition, Brick History, due to take place at Tullie House this summer.
The Brick History exhibition takes famous moments from history and imagines them in LEGO® bricks, created by well-known brick builder Warren Elsmore and his team. The exhibition, due to open at Tullie House this summer, has recently launched a special call-out for members of the public to submit and show off their own creations.
Tullie House is looking for models which tell a story from Carlisle’s long and exciting history. This may be anything from Vikings to Victorians, Romans to Reivers, Celts to Carlisle United, or perhaps the first post-box or last siege. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate.
To help people get creative with their building, Tullie House will be offering ideas and support through their social media sites. Each week, LEGO® fans will be challenged to create a model based on a theme that reveals a new fact or story based on the unique local history of Carlisle.
Jill Goodfellow, Exhibitions Coordinator at Tullie House says: “The weekly challenge is a bit of fun which we hope will keep members of our community entertained during these difficult times. We’re encouraging everyone and anyone to get involved. We hope people may discover a talent they never knew they had and create something that could become part of this future exhibition.”
Tullie House encourages everyone to take up the weekly challenge and share their creations digitally, but for models to qualify for submission to the Brick History exhibition, applicants must follow a few rules:
- Models must be made using official LEGO® system bricks and minifigures
- Entries must be original creations – not built from a LEGO® set or online designs
- The model cannot contain any loose pieces, and all pieces must be connected to each other or the base plate
- Models must be submitted via www.tulliehouse.co.uk/mylegomodel
Models submitted for the exhibition will be judged by the creator of the Brick History, the internationally respected LEGO® artist Warren Elsmore.
