Woman dies after collision

A woman has died and four others received emergency treatment after a crash near Kendal.

Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle collision at 10.45pm yesterday on the A684 Singleton Park Road just outside of Kendal.

A black Ford Fiesta was involved in the crash.

Four people from the vehicle were provided with emergency medical treatment at the scene. Three were taken to Preston hospital for further treatment. A 27-year-old woman from the Kendal area died as a result of her injuries.

Enquiries are ongoing to trace the route of the vehicle prior to the collision and police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the vehicle which is believed to have left Kendal town centre prior to the collision.
