Workington Reds’ opening game in the NPL West on August 14 will bring back some painful memories.

They go to Kidsgrove Athletic and three years ago there, in a season which ended in relegation, they crashed out of the FA Cup.

The first game at Borough Park is on Tuesday, August 17 when City of Liverpool will be the visitors while the first Saturday League game should be a cracker on August 28 against Marine.

Reds must travel on Bank Holiday Monday (August 30) when they travel to Clitheroe and with Boxing Day on a Sunday this year, the Christmas game is on Monday the 27th, a Cumbrian derby at Kendal.

Reds will be at home on New Year’s Day (a Saturday) when Clitheroe are the visitors to Borough Park.

The return derby with Kendal is the home clash on Easter Monday (April18) and the regular season ends on Saturday, April 23 with a first-ever visit to Market Drayton Town.
