A multi-agency search operation has been launched to locate a person who got into difficulty in Crummock Water.
Emergency services were called shortly after 1pm today to reports of two people who had got into difficulty in the water.
Cumbria police, Cumbria Fire and Rescue, North West Ambulance Service, mountain rescue and the coastguard were called to the scene.
