The recently launched Cumbria Food Awards have caught the imagination across the county and beyond.
The very best of the county’s food, drink and hospitality businesses will be recognised in the new awards event.
Since its launch, it has had overwhelming positive feedback from the sector and coverage in media across the north.
Cumbria Food Awards 2022 will celebrate everything that’s excellent about the industry in a county renowned for its restaurants, producers and food scene.
The food and drink sector is hugely important to the county’s economy, generating hundreds of millions of pounds each year and employing thousands of people.
The independent event is intended to give the industry a lift at a time when businesses are struggling with a double whammy of trading restrictions and recruitment problems.
Cumbria Crack is the event’s media partner and this will be the place to come to find out the latest about the awards.
It is organised by designer Lindsay Molloy and journalist Michaela Robinson-Tate, who have more than a decade’s experience of producing and co-ordinating awards events in Cumbria.
Michaela spoke to our colleagues at Lake District Radio and told presenter Nick Brownlee why the awards are an important event for the county.
