A Carlisle man accused of child sex crimes which he denies is to stand trial in front of a jury early next year.
At the city’s crown court this morning, 43-year-old Michael John Bell faced a total of 10 charges.
Six allege sexual activity with a child, two allege sexual assault and two allege the intentional exposure of genitals “intending that someone would see them”.
During a short hearing in front of Judge Nicholas Barker, Bell pleaded not guilty to all 10 charges, which cover a time period between 2016 and 2020. Two different girls are named in the charges.
A trial was fixed and is due to start at the crown court on March 14 next year.
In the meantime, Bell, of Bower Street, Carlisle, was granted conditional bail by Judge Barker.
