Whitehaven have been hit by suspensions ahead of their return to the LEL Arena on Sunday.
Prop Ryan King and stand-off Karl Dixon have both been handed one-match suspensions following the home win over Oldham which ended in some altercations on the field.
The Rugby League disciplinary committee discussed the charges of fighting, against King, and punching, against Dixon, before handing out the one-match bans.
Oldham’s Tyler Dupree was discussed by the match review panel for running in during the same game but decided no further action was required.
It means the Whitehaven pair will miss the clash with Dewsbury, a game that gives Gary Charlton’s men the opportunity to extend their winning home sequence.
On Sunday the Rams lost 22-18 at home to Swinton, which was the Lions first win out of 15 Championship games. It also dropped them to third bottom.
By comparison, Haven coach Charlton has overseen a rise up the table to seventh – into the top half.
“Our second half display at Newcastle was outstanding. If we could play like that all the time we would give every team in the League a game.
“We defended well, had a good kick and chase game and took our chances when they were created. To prevent Newcastle from scoring a point in the second half was a great effort, because they have some talented players.
“It was completely different to our win against Oldham the week before when we were largely poor so we have to maintain Sunday’s levels as we complete the season.”
