Edenside Eagles clinched the Carlisle and District Midweek League title last night.
A ten wicket home win over Lanercost meant they had completed their fixtures and can’t be caught.
Nearest rivals Moorhouse have a game left but they trail the Eagles by four points and can only finish now as runners-up.
Lanercost had made 97-6 in their allotted overs with Adam Tiffen and Johnny Westgarth claiming two wickets each.
The Eagles replied with 97-0 as openers Jonathan Davidson (46no) and Jordan Oultram (38no) saw them through to victory and the title.
In fact the Eagles and Lanercost are the first two sides to complete their fixtures and if Scotby win their final game, Lanercost will finish bottom.
