Workington Town have strengthened their squad in a final push for promotion from League One.
John Hutchings, 21,is a utility player with Championship side Oldham and he has joined for a month.
Although he has moved after the official signing deadline, transfers are allowed in certain situations because of the exceptional circumstances caused by Covid.
Hutchings is a former St Helens Academy player who joined the Roughyeds before the start of the curtailed 2020 season.
He only played three matches then for Oldham, coming off the bench to play prop at Barrow and then operating at centre against Rochdale before suffering a hamstring injury. He later played centre at Widnes in the Challenge Cup.
His only appearance for Oldham this season came on the wing in a heavy 68-0 defeat at Featherstone.
Town are on top of League One at the moment with seven games to play, although it’s unlikely all will be played.
They still have to arrange matches with Coventry (home), Rochdale (away) and Barrow (home).
