After last year’s cancellation through COVID-19 the Tri-Lakeland Triathlon Club was able to held the annual Bassenthwaite Triathlon again.

The event was split into two sections – a sprint race and a standard race with various age group categories.

The sprint race was made up of a 750 metre swim, 25km bike ride and a 6km run while the standard race was longer with a 1500m swim, 40k by bike, and a 10k run.

The print races were won by Richard Anderson (01h-15m-45 sec) and Rachel Vatter (01-29-45) in the senior section.

David Thompson (01-19-09) and Tanya Weston (01-44-48) won the Veteran section while Jason Puck (01-30-06) and Pam Birch (01-53-10) took the honours in the Senior Veteran section.

The Standard Races were won by Mattew Lear (02-13-05) and Lucy Mikkelson-Baron (02-35-44) in the Senior section.

Andy Orton (02-22-32) and Amanda Ingram (02-33-38) won the Veteran Section with Adrian Messingham (02-26-30) and Jo Crawford (03-00-18) winning the Men and Women’s sections of the Senior Veterans.
