- Thursday August 26: 9am-6pm
- Friday August 27: 9am-6pm
- Saturday August 28: 9am-6pm
- Sunday August 29: 10am-5pm
- Bank Holiday Monday August 30: 10am-5pm
Spanish, French, German, Italian, Greek and Turkish street foods will be on offer, as will Thai noodles, Indian curries and rare and exotic meats and burgers including ostrich, kangaroo, wild boar and crocodile.
There will also be cheeses, a hog roast.
Don’t forget to leave a little room for a sweet treat, as there will be an array of cakes, biscuits, sweets and crepes on offer.
There will also be a Continental Street Bar and a Dutch plant seller.
An ancient Proclamation will be recited at the Market Cross on Saturday, August 28 at 10am.
The Proclamation is a declaration of Carlisle City Council’s rights to hold an annual Fair in August, originally granted to the citizens of Carlisle in 1352 by Edward III.
A procession including the mayor of Carlisle Pam Birks, sword and mace bearers and other civic dignitaries will make its way from St Cuthbert’s Church to the Market Cross in the city centre.
