Cumbrian artist Rosie Galloway-Smith is interested in hearing about how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected you and your family.
Rosie has been selected by Lakeland Arts to create a public work of art based on the county’s experiences since the pandemic began as part of a £10,000 commission by Blackwell in Kendal.
She wants to hear from as wide a range of people as possible so that she can express the reality of how people coped during this difficult period in modern history.
Once Rosie begins receiving responses, she will begin designing a series of patterns that will be printed onto fabric and turned into items of clothing which will then be placed on a line outside Blackwell House, the historic Arts and Crafts house based near Bowness-on-Windermere.
The aim of the artwork is to convey a sense of how we all weathered the same storm together and intends to show a range of unique experiences through storytelling illustrational designs.
Responses will be anonymous which Rosie hopes will enable people to be more open in what they share and the only information gathered will be demographical so that she knows she is hearing from a broad range of Cumbrian people.
