The A590 has been closed in both directions after a two-vehicle crash.
The incident was reported to emergency services at about 2pm today.
Officers have closed the road near the Newby Bridge roundabout.
Diversions are in place:
Westbound via B5277 Grange-over-Sands
Eastbound A592 via Bowness and Windermere.
