Aspatria maintained their run of good form in the County League with a comprehensive 5-1 Premier Division home win over Northbank.
Richard Hudson got the ball rolling for Aspatria with a hat trick, while captain Darryl Creighton and Lewis Little chipped-in with the others. Northbank replied through Luke Miller.
Cockermouth entertained Pirelli at the top end of the League and shared six goals in a thrilling 3-3 draw. In the process the home side were denting Pirelli’s 100 per cent record.
Luke Graham (2) and Mike Graham scored for the home team while Pirelli earned the point with goals from Jordan Pritchard-Farish (2) and Jordan Atkinson.
Workington Athletic hosted Wigton in another high scoring game on the plastic at Lakes College and they had to settle for sharing the points in a 4-4 draw.
Macauley Sharp and Greg Quayle helped themselves to two goals apiece for the Athletic, Stuart Carruthers (2), Richard O’Keefe and Sam Irving netted for the Harriers.
Workington Reds Development took the honours in their game with Gosforth, winning 6-3 courtesy of a Tom Houghton hat trick, a brace from Elliot Lowry with Leon Dymtrowski completing the total.
Gosforth responded with goals from Calum Henderson, Rhys Singleton and Robbie Bagley.
Maryport Athletic enjoyed their trip to Carlisle to take on the City Development team.
The Athletic gained their first point of the season coming away with a 2-1 win. Marc Brown and Alec Little notched the goals for the Maryport side, with Alex Cairns reducing the deficit for Carlisle City.
In Division One there were two fixtures cancelled this weekend. The Silloth v Windscale Reserves game was due to a shortage of players.
A number of players have left Silloth in the last week leaving them short of personnel to complete the fixture.
Silloth manager, Liam Wilson is determined to overcome the problem and the club have been given a 14 day fixture amnesty to assist him with that issue.
Cleator Moor Celtic had requested a free week in order for them to address the crowd issues in their North West Counties fixture against Bury AFC.
Around 300 visiting spectators were anticipated to travel to the game, this on top of the regular Celtic faithful, requires various crowd control procedures to be followed.
Many of the Celtic Reserve team staff were needed to assist on the day.
Mirehouse came out on top at home in their local derby with Whitehaven Amateurs Reserves.
