Workington and Marine have it all to do again on Tuesday night after being unable to settle a hard-fought cup tie at Borough Park.
It has now become a mini-series, between two sides who look capable of fighting all the way for the title, as they meet again on Saturday in the League back at Workington.
Marine were faster into their stride than the home side but they could not test debutant goalkeeper Danny Eccles.
When Workington did get into their game Marine keeper Bayleigh Passant had to make two good stops to keep out efforts from Brad Hubbold, while Sam Smith planted a header from a corner onto the roof of the net.
The breakthrough came on 44 minutes when Owen Watkinson was brought down in the box and James Barrigan smashed Marine ahead from the spot.

Workington took three minutes after the restart to equalise with a lovely-worked goal following a long period of passing football and finished superbly by their record scorer Scott Allison.
The hosts were the better side in the second half and Passant made the save of the game to keep out a drive from Ceiran Casson.
Yet Marine could have won it late on when danger man Neil Kengni got away and Eccles made a brave block to deny him.
Manager Chris Willcock had made four changes from the side which beat City of Liverpool on Tuesday and will be assessing several fitness issues ahead of Tuesday’s replay.
