
Lake District Mountain Rescue Searchdogs is among seven teams and 97 mountain rescue team members searching for a missing Yorkshire man.
Three Lake District Search and Rescue dog teams were out on Saturday searching for missing walker David McCartney.
The group thanked everyone who helped in the search and said that “whilst we did not locate David it was not for lack of effort”.
The Lakes teams were joined by mountain rescue teams from across Yorkshire, North Yorkshire Police, Craven RAF and a cave rescue organisation.
A statement from Lake District Mountain Rescue Searchdogs said: “Since we began searching on Tuesday, over 2,000 man-hours have been spent on the ground searching for David. If you are out walking in Wharfedale, Coverdale, or Nidderdale especially around Great Whernside, Kettlewell, Buckden, Grassington and Angram reservoir areas please report sightings of anyone matching David’s description to 999.
“If you have any information which could assist the police with their search for David, please call them on 101. North Yorkshire Police reference number NYP-18102021-0505.”
