Groups which are helping to tackle the climate crisis could be given up to £500 towards their goals by a Cumbrian conservation charity.
The Lake District Foundation wants to support local groups to help meet COP26.
During the conference, the foundation will support up to 20 projects with a grant of up to £500.
One of the main aims of COP26 is to: Adapt to protect communities and natural habitats.
The Lake District Foundation is opening its small grants fund of £10,000 to help achieve that aim and is inviting local groups, and communities to help it make a difference in Cumbria.
A spokesman said: “If you have been inspired by COP26 and feel you have a project that can help the Lake District or Cumbria meet the COP26 targets, come and apply for one of our small grants.”
Grant applications will open 9am on October 31 until 5pm on Friday November 12.
Sarah Swindley, CEO of the Lake District Foundation, said: “We are proud to work with communities and organisations who want to care for the spectacular landscapes, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Lake District. We want to work with inspired groups to really make a difference during COP26.”
