Coronavirus case rates in Cumbria continue to be above the national average.

Coronavirus case rates in Cumbria continue to be above the national average.

For the latest seven-day period, ending on September 26, there were 2,445 new coronavirus cases recorded in the county. This is a case rate of 489.2 per 100,000, which is above the England average of 435.8.

Here are the latest number of weekly cases by Cumbrian district, accompanied with the rate per 100,000:

  • Allerdale – 480 (490.6 per 100,000)
  • Barrow-in-Furness – 412 (617.5 per 100,000)
  • Carlisle – 431 (397.1 per 100,000)
  • Copeland – 570 (837.7 per 100,000)
  • Eden – 188 (349.7 per 100,000)
  • South Lakeland – 364 (347 per 100,000)

Here are the areas in Cumbria with the highest coronavirus case rates accompanied by the number of new cases:

  • Thornhill, Gosforth & Seascale – 111 (1,287.3 per 100,000)
  • Egremont & Moor Row – 68 (877.4 per 100,000)
  • Parkside – 56 (856.1 per 100,000)
  • Walney Island South & Barrow Island – 52 (850.2 per 100,000)
  • Hensingham, Hillcrest & Aikbank – 79 (798.9 per 100,000)
  • Mirehouse, Kells & Woodhouse – 78 (785.3 per 100,000)
  • Whitehaven Harbour & Corkickle – 41 (777 per 100,000)
  • Keswick & Derwent Valley – 52 (775.3 per 100,000)
  • Askam & Dalton North – 44 (707.7 per 100,000)
  • Walney Island North – 45 (675.6 per 100,000)
  • Flimby, Ellenborough & Broughton Moor – 44 (662.7 per 100,000)
  • Workington West – 56 (638.8 per 100,000)
  • Parton & Distington – 32 (622.1 per 100,000)
  • Maryport, Dearham & Crosby – 56 (614.6 per 100,000)
